Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 Begins in Jodhpur, Reinforcing India-Singapore Defence Partnership

The 14th edition of the India-Singapore Joint Military Exercise, Bold Kurukshetra 2025, commenced in Jodhpur with participation from the Indian Army’s Mechanised Infantry Regiment and the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade. The exercise, scheduled to run until August 4, is designed to validate operational procedures for mechanised warfare through a Table Top Exercise and Computer-Based Wargame format.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior officers from both nations, underscoring the strategic importance of the exercise. Colonel Arjun Ganapathi, Commanding Officer of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment, is leading the Indian contingent, while Lieutenant Colonel Khiew Zhi Yoong, Battalion Commander of the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment, heads the Singaporean side. Brigadier Pritam, Commander of 340 (I) Mechanised Brigade, and Colonel Wong Zeng Yu, Commander of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade, were present as chief guests.

A symbolic handing over of the Regimental Flag by the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment to the Indian contingent marked the formal transfer of command for the duration of the exercise. This gesture highlighted the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect between the two armed forces.

The exercise aims to enhance interoperability and joint training capabilities under a United Nations mandate, reflecting a shared commitment to global peacekeeping and regional stability. It will culminate in an equipment display by the Indian Army, showcasing its mechanised warfare assets and operational readiness.

Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 is a significant milestone in the evolving defence relationship between India and Singapore.
