Mumbai: WRWWO organises a vaccination awareness drive at Mumbai Central station. Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (WRWWO) continues to cater to the welfare of railway employees and their families. Especially, during the Coronavirus Pandemic, WRWWO has extended their support in multiple ways. Continuing with their benevolent efforts, under the guidance of Smt. Tanuja Kansal – President of Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (WRWWO) a vaccination camp has been organised for railway staff at Mumbai Central station.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, on 12th July, 2021 President WRWWO Smt. Tanuja Kansal inaugurated the vaccination camp at Mumbai Central station for staff. The 3-day vaccination camp has been specially organised for cleaning staff, sanitation staff, coolies, canteen staff and other station staff who had not received their vaccine. On this occasion, to create awareness regarding vaccination and the benefits of getting vaccinated, a Nukkad Natak was performed by Cultural staff. The conceptualisation of awareness through natak was done by Smt. Kansal herself. The Nukkad Natak was highly effective in giving the message while dealing with all questions regarding the safe procedure of vaccination & its benefits. The Nukkad Natak was appreciated by all and President WRWWO awarded the Cultural Staff with a cash award of Rs. 10,000/-. Another skit was displayed by Ticket Checking Staff depicting how to deal with passengers found without tickets.

WRWWO organises a vaccination awareness drive at Mumbai Central station.  Shri Thakur added that on this occasion, six RPF personnel were also felicitated by Smt. Kansal in the presence of General Manager Western Railway Shri Alok Kansal and Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Division Shri G.V.L Satyakumar. These RPF personnel displayed exemplary courage during their course of duty and saved the lives of passengers who were about to lose their lives while travelling over Mumbai Division. In his speech, GM Shri Alok Kansal emphasised on the need for vaccination and said that “Vaccine benefits our life, vaccine brings value to life.” He assured assistance for vaccination of all employees. GM Shri Kansal congratulated the awardees for their dedication and the display of valour in the line of duty. GM WR also announced cash awards of Rs. 15,000/- for the arrangements made by Mumbai Division towards organising the event and Rs. 5,000/- for Nukkad Natak. In her address to the gathering, Smt. Kansal informed about the various welfare activities being carried out by WRWWO to make women self-reliant. She emphasised that we must forget what is lost and adopt what we get happily and encouraged staff to get vaccinated. At the vaccination camp organised by the Medical Dept. of Mumbai Division, both First & Second dozes of Covishield vaccine were given as per requirement. Two booths were run simultaneously where vaccine was administered through walk-in registration to 80 persons, mainly to railway employees & their family members, coolies and stall workers. After the vaccination, GM WR and President WRWWO interacted with employees who got vaccinated at the camp. Snack boxes were distributed to awardees, cultural artists and to staff who availed the facility of vaccination drive.
