Mumbai:- The Maharashtra Chief Minister Felicitates State NCC for winning PM Banner. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent of Maharashtra Directorate comprising 57 cadets won the prestigious Prime Minister Banner at the recently concluded Republic Day Camp (RDC 2022) for standing first overall in addition to winning a rich haul of Trophies and Medals. The Maharashtra Directorate won the best directorate trophy after a gap of seven years, after being Runners-up in the last two editions of the camp. The contingent returned to Mumbai on completion of Republic Day activities on 30 Jan 2022.

During the At Home function held on 01 Feb 22, the Dy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Ajit Pawar, hosted and interacted with the NCC cadets. The Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray was also present during the function via Video Conference. He felicitated the prize winners and awarded prizes to meritorious cadets for their all-around performance during the RD Parade Camp 2021-22. Hon’ble Ministers Shri Sunil Kedar, Smt Yashomita Thakur, and Mrs Aditi Tatkare as also the ADG NCC Maharashtra Dte, Maj Gen YP Khanduri, Senior Officers of NCC Directorate Maharashtra, Group Commanders, Officers and Staff of NCC with spouses were present for the occasion.

Amongst the 57 cadets in Maharashtra contingent at the Republic Day Camp 2022, 17 cadets marched at the Rajpath representing the All India NCC contingent, and seven cadets were part of the All India NCC Guard of Honour at the PM’s rally. Senior Under Officer (SUO) Gitesh Dingar, had the privilege of presenting a salute to the Hon’ble Prime Minister as the Guard Commander during the PM’s rally. Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) Prithvi Patil was adjudged the All India Best Cadet from Senior Division, Air Wing. Five cadets from Maharashtra were also awarded the DG NCC commendation card.
