Now a standalone corridor, Line 2A will operate with enhanced efficiency. Trains will run every 6 minutes during peak hours and 8–10 minutes during non-peak hours. Services will begin at 5:50 AM and continue till around 11:00 PM.
Metro Line 7 & Line 9 (Gundavali – Kashigaon):
With the addition of Line 9, this integrated corridor will offer direct connectivity across key suburban areas. Peak frequency will be approximately 5 minutes 50 seconds, with services operating from 5:50 AM to 11:00 PM.
Metro Line 2B (Mandale – Diamond Garden, Phase 1):
This new 5.38 km corridor improves east-west connectivity, particularly in Harbour Line areas like Chembur. Trains will run every 9.5 minutes, with services from 6:00 AM to around 10:30 PM.
Seamless Interchange & Better Experience
Passengers can continue to interchange at Dahisar station between Lines 2A and 7 without exiting the paid area. The revised schedules aim to reduce waiting time, improve reliability, and simplify travel planning across the network.
Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, said the restructuring and new line launches mark a key milestone in Mumbai’s metro expansion. He highlighted that the changes are designed to ensure smoother passenger movement, better connectivity, and improved operational efficiency.
He added that the integration of Line 7 with Line 9 and the introduction of Line 2B will ease congestion and support balanced commuter distribution, bringing the city closer to its vision of a fully integrated 337 km metro network and a “Mumbai in Minutes” reality.
Passengers are advised to check updated schedules before travel as the city moves towards a faster, more efficient metro system.
