Forever News
Mumbai | August 4, 2026: Mumbai continued to witness intermittent monsoon showers on Tuesday, with light to moderate rainfall recorded across several parts of the city and suburbs. The weather department has forecast generally cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy spells of rain over the next 24 hours.

Mumbai Monsoon Update.
Neighbouring districts including Thane, Palghar and Raigad are also expected to receive rainfall as monsoon activity remains active over the Konkan region. While widespread flooding is not anticipated, isolated heavy downpours may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and slow-moving traffic during peak hours.
Civic authorities have kept emergency response teams on standby, with storm-water pumping stations functioning to minimise flooding in vulnerable locations. Commuters have been advised to check local train and traffic updates before travelling.
The city is expected to experience daytime temperatures of around 28–29°C, accompanied by high humidity and cloudy conditions. Rainfall is likely to persist over the next few days as the southwest monsoon continues to remain active.
Authorities have advised residents to:
- Avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain.
- Stay away from waterlogged roads and open drains.
- Avoid venturing near the seafront during rough weather.
- Secure loose objects on balconies and terraces.
- Follow official weather advisories and traffic updates.
While the showers have brought relief from the humid weather, citizens are urged to remain cautious as rainfall intensity may vary across different parts of the city.
