Ram Temple Donation Row: Acharya Pramod Krishnam Calls for Thorough Probe, Says ‘Resignations Alone Are Not Enough’
Ghaziabad: Spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam on Friday called for a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities in donations to the Ram Temple, saying that resignations alone would not address the concerns surrounding the case.

Spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam.
Reacting to the controversy, Krishnam said the issue was not merely about financial losses but about protecting the faith of millions of devotees.
“This theft did not take place at a trader’s shop or a businessman’s factory. This concerns the faith of the people. One or two resignations do not matter. The matter must be investigated thoroughly,” he said while speaking to IANS.
He further said that the investigation should establish who was responsible for the alleged wrongdoing and ensure complete transparency.
“The people of the country have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. They expect a transparent investigation. Holding a position is not important; upholding religion is,” he said.
Krishnam also criticised Opposition parties for what he described as attempts to politically target the Ram Temple issue.
“The Opposition is trying to defame Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Yogi and the Ram Mandir. People’s faith in Lord Ram will remain intact,” he said.
The remarks came after Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust chief Champat Rai and Trust member Anil Mishra reportedly stepped down from their positions amid the ongoing controversy over alleged irregularities in the handling of temple donations.
According to Uttar Pradesh government sources, the two Trust members resigned on moral grounds as scrutiny intensified following preliminary findings by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Police have also registered an FIR against eight individuals, including temple staff and former bank officials, alleging their involvement in the misappropriation of temple donations. The accused have been arrested, and the investigation is continuing.
Authorities have not yet announced final findings, and the allegations remain under investigation.
Why It Matters
The Ram Temple is one of India’s most significant religious institutions, attracting donations from devotees across the country and abroad. The controversy has therefore drawn nationwide attention, with calls from multiple quarters for a transparent investigation to maintain public confidence in the management of temple funds. The outcome of the investigation is expected to have implications for accountability and governance in religious trusts. www.forevernews.in
