The Jan Aushadhi Diwas was celebrated across India from March 1 to 7, 2025, with the theme “Affordable Medicine, Everyone’s Right.” A series of events were organized in different states and union territories to mark the occasion.
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, visited a Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS Bilaspur and interacted with beneficiaries. Chief Ministers and other central and state-level ministers participated in over 350 events nationwide, engaging approximately 50,000 people. More than 200 new Jan Aushadhi Kendras were opened, bringing the total to 15,291.
The week-long celebration included major events attended by notable figures, such as Chief Ministers, Members of Parliament, and senior government officials. They emphasized the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya JanAushadhi Pariyojna (PMBJP), aiming to raise public awareness.
Jagat Prakash Nadda and Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Anupriya Patel, shared video messages wishing citizens a Happy 7th Jan Aushadhi Diwas. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited a Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Ashok Vihar, encouraging public participation in the program.
Renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik created a sand art piece depicting the theme “Affordable Medicine” at Niladri Beach, Puri, Odisha. The art highlighted the Prime Minister’s vision for the initiative.
The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) conducted various activities under PMBJP, including Jan Chetna Abhiyan, Heritage Walks, Health Camps, and more. The event aimed at inclusive participation and public engagement.
Union Minister Nadda flagged off the Jan Aushadhi Rath (mobile van) to spread awareness in the National Capital. Jan Aushadhi Pratigya Yatras and Pad Yatras were conducted across the country, involving school children donning Jan Aushadhi T-shirts and caps.
Heritage walks themed “Jan Aushadhi with Heritage” were held at 500 locations, including Hauz Khas in New Delhi and Gwalior Fort. Health camps were organized for senior citizens.
Jan Aushadhi Bal Mitra Participation saw children involved in activities to spread the program’s message. Women beneficiaries gathered at Jan Aushadhi Kendras for interactions and information sharing on March 4, 2025.
Seminars were held at pharmacy colleges and universities on March 5, 2025, to inform students about employment opportunities under PMBJP. Citizens were encouraged to volunteer through the “Aao Jan Aushadhi Mitra Banein” initiative.
Qutub Minar was illuminated with lights, symbolizing the Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana. Over 1.12 billion digital messages were sent to spread awareness among pensioners and beneficiaries. Competitions such as essay writing, poster making, and quizzes were organized through the MyGov portal, with winners receiving awards. Community radio stations also played a significant role in creating awareness.
