India Strikes Hard Against Terrorism with Operation Sindoor, Bolsters National Security Strategy

0

India has demonstrated its most decisive action against terrorism in history with Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the terror attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, addressing a security dialogue in Dehradun, described the operation as a turning point in India’s counterterror strategy, with forces striking deep into terror strongholds in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Singh underscored the urgency of dismantling terrorist infrastructure, calling terrorism a distorted moral reasoning and the greatest curse on humanity. He reinforced that India will not allow terror groups to operate unchecked, warning that future attacks will be met with even more forceful retaliation.

Operation Sindoor follows a broader transformation of India’s security posture over the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The Minister emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 ushered in a new era of peace and progress in Jammu & Kashmir, with Pakistan attempting to disrupt the momentum through violent attacks. Despite such efforts, development in the region has surged, highlighted by projects like the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway link. Singh expressed confidence that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir would one day reunite with India, asserting, “Soon, PoK will join us and say, ‘I, too, am Bharat’.”

Singh labeled Pakistan the “Father of Global Terrorism,” accusing it of harboring, training, and funding terrorist organizations. He urged the international community to halt foreign funding to Pakistan, arguing that such financial aid fuels terror operations instead of economic development. Foreign governments and institutions must reconsider any support to Islamabad, Singh stated, stressing that Pakistan’s stability depends on dismantling terror networks rather than financing them.

He expressed alarm at the United Nations Security Council’s appointment of Pakistan as Vice-Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Panel, citing the country’s well-documented role in supporting extremist groups. Pakistan has repeatedly sheltered global terrorists, Singh reminded the audience, questioning how a nation that provided refuge to 9/11 masterminds could be trusted to lead anti-terror efforts.

The Minister outlined India’s growing defense production and self-reliance, revealing a target of Rs 1.75 trillion in defense manufacturing and Rs 30 billion in defense exports for the year. He credited India’s indigenously developed weapons, missiles, and military platforms for the success of Operation Sindoor, affirming that India is no longer dependent on foreign arms but is now an exporter of advanced defense technology.

Singh warned of the increasing role of information warfare, urging citizens to become “social soldiers” against misinformation. During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan engaged in digital propaganda to undermine morale, he revealed, cautioning that even though military strikes may end, psychological warfare continues. He encouraged people to think before sharing unverified reports online, stating that reckless circulation of misinformation aids the enemy’s agenda.

In closing, Singh reminded media professionals of their critical role in safeguarding national security. He urged the press to prioritize accuracy over sensationalism, warning against the dangers of unverified content. National security today extends beyond borders—it is a battle fought on cyber and social fronts as well, he emphasized.

With India solidifying its defense capabilities, Singh reiterated that the government remains resolute in its mission to protect the country, eliminate terror, and ensure lasting peace and progress.
