n a resounding testament to India’s deepening commitment to holistic health and wellness, the Ministry of Ayush has announced that more than 1,000 organizations have registered to participate in the Yoga Sangam initiative, setting the stage for the country’s largest-ever celebration of yoga. The initiative is expected to culminate on June 21, 2025, marking the International Day of Yoga with an unprecedented nationwide movement.

Spanning the length and breadth of India, the registrations include a diverse mix of schools, colleges, corporate institutions, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, Resident Welfare Associations, and community groups. Entities from all 28 states and 7 union territories have pledged to conduct synchronized yoga demonstrations following the Common Yoga Protocol, creating a unified expression of wellness and mindfulness across the country.

The initiative comes as the world commemorates a decade since the United Nations officially recognized the International Day of Yoga in 2015, a move spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As India celebrates its global leadership in wellness, this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” underscores the growing relevance of holistic practices in fostering physical and mental well-being.

From the snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas to the coastal landscapes of Kanyakumari, from bustling urban parks to tranquil village spaces, the event is set to transform more than 100,000 locations into vibrant hubs of wellness. Yoga Sangam is not merely an event; it represents a nationwide movement fostering health, harmony, and self-discovery.

The Ministry of Ayush has called on citizens and institutions to play an active role in the movement, inviting them to host yoga sessions in their communities. By visiting the official website, individuals and organizations can register their participation, conduct a Yoga Sangam session on June 21, and later upload details to receive an official Certificate of Appreciation.

The initiative aims to create a synchronized wave of health-conscious engagement across India, reinforcing the country’s standing as the birthplace of yoga and its continuing role in advancing global wellness. As momentum builds, the Yoga Sangam is expected to bring millions together in celebration of India’s timeless heritage and its ever-expanding influence on the world stage.
