The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation participated in the 15th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held at 47 locations across the country. The event saw the distribution of more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth in various government departments, including EPFO. Prime Minister Modi addressed the event via videoconferencing, reinforcing the government’s commitment to employment generation and workforce expansion.
EPFO issued appointment letters to 976 new recruits, including 345 Accounts Officers and Enforcement Officers, as well as 631 Social Security Assistants, with an aim to further streamline its operations and strengthen its workforce. These appointments are expected to enhance the efficiency of social security services offered to millions of subscribers, ensuring better access to provident fund, pension, and insurance benefits. The organization has established a dedicated recruitment vertical in its head office to ensure consistent hiring and has developed a recruitment calendar in line with directives from the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Over the past year, EPFO has completed the recruitment of 159 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners, 84 Junior Translation Officers, 28 Stenographers, and 2674 Social Security Assistants. Additional recruitments of Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners, Enforcement Officers, Accounts Officers, Personal Assistants, and Assistant Section Officers are currently underway.
Newly appointed personnel will receive structured training through the iGOT Karmayogi platform, along with formal training programs designed to upskill them for their roles. EPFO’s participation in the Rozgar Mela reflects its commitment to transparent and merit-based recruitment, ensuring that services continue to meet the evolving needs of India’s workforce.
As employment generation remains a priority for the government, initiatives such as the Rozgar Mela reaffirm efforts to empower youth and build a future-ready workforce capable of driving India’s social security framework forward.
