Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated Bharat Telecom 2025 in New Delhi, reinforcing India’s position as a rising global leader in telecom manufacturing, services, and exports. The event, organized by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) in collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), attracted significant international participation, with over 130 foreign delegates from 35 countries and more than 80 leading Indian telecom and ICT companies showcasing cutting-edge solutions.
Minister Scindia emphasized India’s rapid digital transformation, highlighting the deployment of 470,000 towers to connect 99% of India’s villages with 5G within 22 months. “We’re not just connecting villages; we’re connecting futures. Every tower we raise, every byte we transmit brings 1.4 billion people closer to opportunity,” he stated. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for transforming India from a digital follower into a global telecom powerhouse.
The event featured key discussions on India’s rising exports, facilitated by initiatives such as production-linked incentives and progressive spectrum management. Minister of State for Communications Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar stressed India’s evolution from a telecom consumer to a creator of world-class solutions, stating, “India now plays a significant role in global supply chains, producing 15% of the world’s iPhones and pushing forward initiatives in 6G, satellite broadband, and quantum communication networks.”
Chairman of TEPC Arnob Roy highlighted the transformative impact of India’s indigenous telecom ecosystem, inviting global stakeholders to explore innovations at the Bharat Telecom 2025 exhibition. The conference sessions, B2B meetings, and knowledge-sharing forums focused on critical technologies, including 5G, optical fiber, broadband infrastructure, satellite communication, IoT, and AI-driven networks.
