Bank of Maharashtra observes ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2021’

Pune: A week-long ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ concluded at Bank of Maharashtra on 1st November 2021 at its Head Office, Pune. Shri Atulchandra Kulkarni, Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. Shri A S Rajeev, Managing Director & CEO, Shri Hemant Tamta and Shri A. B. Vijayakumar, Executive Directors along with General Managers were present in the function.
Shri A S Rajeev, MD & CEO in his speech asserted to inculcate habits of vigilance culture in the Bank. Shri. A S Rajeev opined that every employee should be vigilant and committed to the highest standards of honesty & integrity and support to fight against corruption. Shri Rajeev congratulated all the staff members for having a very high Integrity Index in the institution and expressed his happiness for the meager number of vigilance cases in BoM. 1.87 Crore SMSs were sent to all bank customers regarding Vigilance Awareness and to take integrity pledge online. Shri Rajeev also emphasized the need to strengthen the systems and procedures and compliance of rules and regulations with end to end digitization process with minimum human intervention.
Shri Atulchandra Kulkarni, Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra expressed his happiness being among the staff members of BoM and congratulated all staff members for the way Bank has made turnaround in last two years. He said it’s a matter of great pride to have such a minuscule no of vigilance cases in Bank. Shri Kulkarni asserted that we must be thoughtful in our actions and beliefs and fulfil the aspirations of Nation as envisaged by Hon’ble Prime Minister of practicing Integrity, Transparency and Accountability. He also advised to be very cautious while dealing with exchequers money and also shared some real life experiences to enlighten staff in an interactive session.
Shri Hemant Tamta, Executive Director opined that with the collective efforts of all, the corruption can be eradicated so that a self-reliant society with high moral values can be developed. Moreover, he informed about the IT initiatives carried out by the Bank to bring more transparency in functioning of the bank.
Shri A. B. Vijayakumar, Executive Director in his speech conveyed the purpose of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ celebrations and highlighted BoM being No.1 in business growth is making all out efforts to become No.1 In Digital usage and in Integrity Index. Shri Vijayakumar also emphasized on the outreach activities undertaken by bank branches and offices to spread the message on theme- “Independent India @75: Self-Reliance with Integrity”. On this occasion, an educative video emphasizing safe use of digital banking channels was unveiled at the hands of chief guest.
The week-long celebrations which commenced on 26th October, 2021 witnessed various awareness activities viz. quiz & slogan writing competitions, workshops, sensitization programs, competitions for employees, rallies, broadcasting of radio jingles in regional languages on vigilance awareness, display of hoardings & banners, Awareness programs at Gram Sabha, Meets with Self Help Groups etc., E-pledge by staff and general public were organised through participation of all our 40 Zonal Offices in the country.
During the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ celebrations, all the branches organized ‘Customer Meet’ as a part of outreach activities. A link was also provided on Bank of Maharashtra website to take online Integrity pledge.
This Vigilance Awareness Week concluding ceremony was attended by all executives and employees of bank present in head office and 40 zonal offices connected through video conference. Ms Mrudul Joglekar, Dy General Manager, concluded the program with vote of thanks.
