Mumbai: Western Railway provided a splendid platform to its artists to showcase their talents. Artistic performance enriches our lives and showcases life from a different perspective. In continuation to this, a theatrical performance of a Hindi play “Sab Golmaal Hai” was staged recently by the Western Railway Fine Arts & Cultural Association. Shri Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway was the Chief Guest and Smt. Tanuja Kansal – President of Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation was the Guest of Honour for this event.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, this performance event was inaugurated by the esteemed guests with the lighting of the lamp, along with the tunes of Saraswati Vandana. The play “Sab Golmal Hai” was staged by the artists of Lower Parel Workshop, Mahalaxmi Workshop, Mumbai Division Office, and Headquarter Office. The performance by all artists was flawless & commendable. Similarly, costumes, stage sets, background music & direction were also appreciated by all the viewers. It’s worth mentioning that WRWWO President Smt Tanuja Kansal has always took a keen interest & motivated to promote cultural activities & talented artists over Western Railway. On this occasion, WRWWO’s President Smt. Tanuja Kansal appreciated the theatrical performance & encouraged the artists. A group cash prize of Rs 20 thousand was announced for this mesmerizing performance by W. Rly. GM Shri Alok Kansal, while a group cash award of Rs 10 thousand was declared by WRWWO President Smt Tanuja Kansal for the same to cultural team. Excellent flower decoration & other good arrangements for this unique event were also appreciated by Shri Kansal & Smt Tanuja Kansal.

In his address to the audience on this occasion, W. Rly GM Shri Alok Kansal quoted the famous dialogue from classic movie Anand that “Ye Duniya ek rangmanch hai aur hum sab iskee kathputliyan hain, jinkee doar oopar wale ke hathon mein hai..!” While encouraging the artists, Shri Kansal said that artists should be given suitable platforms to perform various art forms. He said that such type of cultural events are very much beneficial to increase the confidence level of talented artists & to motivate their creativity at the higher level. GM said that through such good creative events, participating artists shall gain self-confidence, personality motivation, team spirits, expression of positive human emotions, sense of humour & comic approach & respect towards all faiths of our society. He said that various senior railway officers present on this occasion will be able to break the monotony of their lives in this challenging scenario of COVID-19 pandemic. Various Principal Heads of Departments of Western & Central Railways were also present on this occasion & their presence has ensured to create a new harmony & healthy environment between both the zonal railways along with positive attitude amongst all of us towards the life. This play based on the series of comedy of errors & confusion was directed by Shri Girish Dubey of Mahalaxmi Workshop and the music was composed by Smt. Aarti Gosavi Sagade of Stores Department of WR HQ. The title song was sung by Smt. Aarti Gosavi & Shri Makarand Bhagwat, Organising Secretary of the Cultural Association. The event was anchored by Shri Hans Dev Sharma. The lead roles were played by various talented artists of WR’s cultural teams.
