Mumbai: Major General Vivek Tyagi has taken over as Additional Director General of NCC Directorate, Maharashtra. A veteran with over 35 years of distinguished service, he earlier led the NCC Directorate of West Bengal & Sikkim, where his initiatives for youth empowerment earned wide acclaim.
MAJ GEN VIVEK TYAGI ASSUMES CHARGE AS ADG NCC MAHARASHTRA DIRECTORATE.
An alumnus of NDA and IMA, he was commissioned into the Rajputana Rifles in 1990 during deployment in J&K and later commanded the same battalion along the Line of Control. His operational profile spans Kargil, Uri, Rajouri, and Manipur-Nagaland. He has commanded a Brigade in Kashmir and the UN Multinational Brigade in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He has also commanded an Infantry Division on active borders, served in Army HQ, and held key instructional roles. A graduate of the National Defence College and Research Fellow at APCSS, Hawaii, he has been decorated with multiple Army commendations.
On assuming charge, he commended NCC Maharashtra’s performance and urged cadets to uphold Unity and Discipline while fostering future leaders with the ethos of Nation First.
