Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of soldiers excelling not only in combat skills but also in mental stability and spiritual empowerment to address the challenges posed by the evolving nature of modern warfare. Speaking at an event organized at the Brahma Kumaris Headquarters in Mount Abu, Rajasthan on April 21, 2025, Singh highlighted that today’s conflicts extend beyond traditional battlefields to encompass cyber, space, information, and psychological fronts. He stated that national security could only be ensured through strong personality traits, enlightened consciousness, and heightened awareness.

Singh underscored the vital role of mental strength alongside physical prowess for soldiers facing difficult conditions and prolonged stress. He commended the Brahma Kumaris’ campaign aimed at enhancing mental health among soldiers, describing it as a commendable initiative in view of the present global geopolitical landscape. The campaign theme, “Self-Empowerment – Through Inner Awakening,” was praised for its relevance and impact. Singh expressed confidence that practices such as meditation, yoga, positive thinking, and self-dialogue could provide the mental, emotional, and spiritual resilience necessary for soldiers to navigate the uncertainties of the global environment while contributing to national transformation.

Highlighting the significance of India’s cultural heritage, Singh described spirituality and yoga as the most effective means of addressing stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges. He noted that a mentally strong and alert security force serves as a beacon of hope for the nation. Singh acknowledged the efforts of the Brahma Kumaris’ Security Service Wing in supporting security personnel through diverse initiatives such as residential, field, and online programs, special campaigns, and tailored projects for specific forces.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, and Headquarters SSW, Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation of Brahma Kumaris. The agreement aims to enhance the mental health of beneficiaries under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), reducing their dependence on medication while fostering overall well-being.

Singh’s remarks emphasized the interconnectedness of inner self-protection and national security, positioning India as an advocate for integrating mental and spiritual strength with border protection. The initiative aligns with his vision of fostering holistic well-being and resilience within the armed forces to effectively tackle contemporary challenges.
