Sisters Living Works is proud to announce the 11th Annual Suicide Prevention Conference 2025, to be held on 21st September from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Churchgate, Mumbai. Coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day, the event brings together survivors, students, healthcare professionals, mental health advocates, researchers, and policy stakeholders in a powerful gathering of knowledge, lived experience, and actionable dialogue.
This year’s conference explores suicide through multiple intersecting lenses—caste, religion, gender, and disability—offering a deeper understanding of how social structures impact mental health and suicide vulnerability in India.
Among the most pressing issues to be addressed is the rising burden of academic pressure, particularly the competitive nature of NEET and JEE examinations, and its psychological toll on students. The event will also highlight challenges faced by the queer community in accessing affirmative healthcare and support, while bringing forward the voices of those who have experienced suicide loss.
In addition to panel discussions, the conference will feature original research presentations on emerging patterns in suicide and prevention strategies. A psychologist-led performance will explore emotional well-being through an artistic lens, while another key session will examine the influence of pop culture on perceptions of suicide. The role of workplace wellness and corporate mental health policy will also be discussed, stressing the need for systemic support within professional environments.
Participants can look forward to a day of deep engagement, critical reflection, and community care. Meals will be provided along with curated snack boxes, and all attendees will receive participation certificates.
