Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the RailOne app on the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. Positioned as a one-stop digital interface, the RailOne app integrates a wide range of passenger services to enhance convenience, efficiency and engagement across the Indian Railways ecosystem.
Developed under CRIS’s digital infrastructure mandate, RailOne offers a unified, user-friendly interface with space-saving benefits, eliminating the need for multiple applications. It is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms and supports sign-in via mPIN, biometrics, as well as existing RailConnect and UTS credentials.
Key features of RailOne include booking of unreserved and platform tickets with a 3 percent discount, real-time train tracking, a grievance redressal system, and facilities for e-catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi services. Reserved ticket booking will continue via the IRCTC platform, and RailOne has been duly authorised by IRCTC as one of its partner applications.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister congratulated the CRIS team for their efforts and urged continued progress toward fortifying the digital core of Indian Railways. He highlighted the modernisation of the Passenger Reservation System (PRS), scheduled for rollout by December 2025. The upgraded PRS is designed to be agile, multilingual, and exponentially more powerful, with the capability to handle 150,000 ticket bookings and 4 million enquiries per minute. It will offer advanced seat selection tools, fare calendars, and inclusive features tailored for persons with disabilities, students, and patients.
Vaishnaw reaffirmed that the initiative forms part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming Indian Railways into the cornerstone of India’s development journey. The launch of RailOne is a step toward democratising digital services, expanding mobility access, and offering world-class amenities to every railway passenger.
