Lok Sabha Speaker Urges Youth-Led Transformation Towards Viksit Bharat at JITEM Conclave

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has called on India’s youth to take charge of the country’s transformation journey towards a developed nation by 2047. Speaking at the JITEM Youth Conclave 2025 organized by Jain International Trade Organisation in Gurugram, Birla emphasized that the future of the country depends on equipping young citizens with the right guidance, technical support and policy frameworks.

Birla said youth must embody the spirit of “Antyodaya”—uplifting the last person in society—and that building an inclusive economy and culture is a shared responsibility. He commended the Jain community for its exemplary efforts in economic empowerment and social welfare, highlighting its contributions across trade, technology, social service, government, urban politics and international development. He noted that Jain principles of ethics, renunciation, peace and global goodwill offer a moral foundation for national progress.

Stressing that today’s youth are not just job seekers but increasingly job creators, Birla referenced national campaigns like Startup India, Skill India, Make in India and the Green Energy Mission that have harnessed youth energy toward nation-building. He stated that India’s young population possesses the passion for change, the ability to shape the future and the resolve to uplift society.

Birla praised JITO for being more than a trade and business community—calling it a vibrant institution where innovation, technology, and Jain philosophical values converge. He said the organization’s efforts in economic, educational and service-based activities are empowering not just its own community, but contributing significantly to India’s growth story.

Touching on India’s democratic ethos, Birla said that democracy is deeply embedded in India’s culture and governance traditions, long predating independence. He pointed out that despite early skepticism from foreign observers, India’s democracy has flourished because of its commitment to collective welfare, discussion, and resilience during crises. He called Indian democracy a reflection of the country’s spiritual and social character and a model of strength through unity.

The conclave ended with a message of optimism and resolve, urging the youth to participate actively in shaping a new India built on inclusion, innovation, ethics and enlightened leadership.
