Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the Khelo India University Games 2025 will be hosted in Jaipur this November, jointly organized by Poornima University and Rajasthan University. This marks the fifth edition of the under-25 multi-sport event, which began in 2020. More than 4,000 athletes from over 200 universities are expected to compete across at least 20 disciplines.
The previous edition, held across seven northeastern states, saw eight new athletics records and participation by 4,500 athletes. Swimmer Pratyasa Ray of Utkal University emerged as the most decorated female athlete with four golds, while Xavier Michael Dsouza of Jain University claimed the men’s title with four gold medals. Chandigarh University won the team championship, followed by Lovely Professional University and Guru Nanak Dev University.
Mandaviya emphasized the Games’ role in empowering youth and nurturing grassroots talent, calling it a vital scouting ground for national selectors. Rajasthan will host the event for the first time, positioning it as a celebration of unity, excellence, and sporting aspiration.
