The Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, marked a significant milestone in India’s military aviation as 254 flight cadets, including men and women, were formally commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF). The ceremony, held on June 14, 2025, featured Air Chief Marshal AP Singh as the Reviewing Officer, conferring the President’s Commission to the graduates.
The event was attended by Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, Air Marshal PK Vohra, and numerous dignitaries, alongside proud family members. The ceremony commenced with a General Salute, followed by an impressive march past.
In addition to IAF cadets, nine officers from the Indian Navy, seven from the Indian Coast Guard, and one international trainee were awarded Wings upon successful completion of flying training, reinforcing India’s commitment to joint military cooperation.
The highlight of the parade was the Commissioning Ceremony, where graduating cadets pledged to safeguard India’s sovereignty and honor, followed by thrilling displays by the Akash Ganga skydiving team, the Air Warrior Drill Team, and the Suryakiran aerobatic team. The event also featured synchronized flypasts by Pilatus PC-7 MkII, Hawk, Kiran Mk-1, and Chetak trainer aircraft.
Flying Officer Rohan Krishnamurti, from the Flying Branch, was awarded the President’s Plaque and the Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour for securing the top position in the Pilots’ course, while Flying Officer Nishtha Vaid received the President’s Plaque for excellence in Ground Duty branches.
In his address, Air Chief Marshal Singh lauded the officers’ immaculate turn-out, precision drill movements, and high professional standards. He emphasized the evolving nature of aerospace warfare, urging cadets to embrace innovation, commitment, and leadership as they enter military service.
He cited Operation Sindoor as a testament to the IAF’s combat readiness, reaffirming that the force will remain the first responder in times of national crisis. Singh outlined the future trajectory of the IAF, stressing India’s transition to a true aerospace force, with officers expected to lead ventures into space and advanced combat technologies.
The parade concluded with the newly commissioned officers marching out to martial tunes, symbolizing the beginning of their careers dedicated to honor, pride, and national service.
