India and US Strengthen Cooperation on Aircraft Carrier Technology in 8th Joint Working Group Meeting

India hosted the 8th meeting of the India-US Joint Working Group on Aircraft Carrier Technology Cooperation (JWGACTC) from May 13 to 16, 2025, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to advancing carrier technology collaboration under the Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI).

A six-member delegation led by Rear Admiral Casey Moton, Programme Executive Officer (PEO), Aircraft Carriers, visited key defence establishments in Delhi and Goa to engage in discussions with Indian counterparts.

The opening session, held in New Delhi on May 13, was co-chaired by Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi, Assistant Controller Carrier Projects (ACCP), where Rear Admiral Moton highlighted the progress made over the past decade and acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Joint Working Group in facilitating information exchange on aircraft carrier advancements.

Following extensive deliberations, both sides discussed future cooperation plans across multiple areas of carrier technology, culminating in the release of a Joint Statement affirming continued collaboration.

In Goa, Indian Navy Aviation Specialists engaged with the visiting delegation, conducting professional interactions on aircraft carrier operations and technical aspects. The meeting marked yet another significant milestone in the growing India-US partnership in defence technology.

The JWGACTC continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing mutual expertise, fostering deeper technical collaboration, and expanding joint development opportunities between the two nations in the strategic domain of aircraft carrier technology.
