The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) has announced extensive plans to celebrate International Day of Yoga 2025 through its signature “Harit Yoga” activities. Aligning with the Government of India’s vision to promote yoga as a lifestyle and to mark the tenth anniversary of the International Day of Yoga observation, FHRAI’s initiatives combine wellness with environmental responsibility. These events, scheduled across the country, aim to propagate the message of mindfulness and sustainability.
FHRAI has planned three major events in the lead-up to International Day of Yoga 2025. The celebrations will commence with a Yoga Retreat on April 22, 2025, at the Atmantan Wellness Centre, located amidst the scenic Sahyadri Hills in Mulshi, Maharashtra. This retreat will provide participants with an immersive experience of connecting with nature through yoga. A campus event will follow on April 29, 2025, at the FHRAI Institute of Hospitality Management in Greater Noida, involving future leaders of the hospitality industry in discussions on yoga principles and sustainability. The flagship event, scheduled for May 17, 2025, will take place at JW Marriott in Bangalore, integrating wellness practices with dialogue and community engagement to celebrate yoga’s relevance to modern urban lifestyles.
These events are part of the Harit Yoga initiative, one of ten signature activities coordinated by the Ministry of Ayush to commemorate a decade of International Yoga Day. The project emphasizes the integration of wellness and environmental consciousness. Beyond traditional yoga sessions, participants will engage in environmentally friendly activities such as tree planting, beach clean-ups, and other community-led environmental efforts. Harit Yoga also encompasses educational campaigns on pressing global issues such as climate change, conservation, and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles. International participation has already been witnessed in the Harit Yoga campaign, inspiring global communities to adopt eco-conscious practices through yoga.
FHRAI’s Assistant Secretary General, Ms. Payal Swami, emphasized the Federation’s dedication to the Government’s mission to promote health and sustainability. FHRAI’s Harit Yoga activities aim to raise awareness and inclusivity, ensuring that the impact of these events resonates with a broad audience. The Federation sees these initiatives as a commitment to not only the promotion of yoga as a universal practice but also its alignment with environmental conservation for a better future.
As these events unfold, FHRAI envisions a stronger connection between wellness practices and sustainable living, furthering the ethos of the International Day of Yoga while celebrating its journey over the past ten years. The Federation continues to rally the private sector to support this movement and extend its reach across diverse communities.
