EEPC India conferred National Awards for Excellence in Engineering Exports to 111 companies in a ceremony held in Mumbai, recognising their performance in FY 2022–23 when India’s engineering exports touched USD 107 billion—about 24% of total merchandise exports. JSW Steel, John Deere India, Cummins Technologies India, Larsen & Toubro, BEML, Thermax, and Apar Industries were among the awardees.

EEPC India Chairman Pankaj Chadha urged a three-year exemption for MSMEs from the European Union’s carbon tax under its forthcoming Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, effective January 2026. He also called on the government to defend engineering sector interests during trade negotiations with the US and Mexico.

Chadha pushed for simplifying land acquisition processes in Maharashtra, proposed a single-window clearance mechanism, and sought repeal of the Mathadi Act, calling it outdated in a mechanised era.

Vice Chairman Aakash Shah expressed optimism about new trade agreements opening markets for Indian engineering goods. Joint Secretary Vimal Anand of the Department of Commerce, Government of India, attended the event as a special guest, and Regional Chairman Anoop Marwaha delivered the vote of thanks.
