New Delhi, July 12 (Forever News): Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal will lead a high-level Indian business delegation on a five-day visit to Spain, Belgium and Finland from July 13 to 17, 2026, aimed at deepening India’s economic engagement with the European Union and accelerating cooperation in trade, investment, technology, innovation and sustainability.

The visit comes at a crucial stage in India-EU relations, with both sides working towards the early conclusion of the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA). It is expected to provide fresh momentum to bilateral partnerships and strengthen India’s position as a preferred global investment and manufacturing destination.

The Indian delegation includes representatives from leading companies in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital technologies, healthcare, food processing, gems and jewellery, and design.

Spain Visit to Focus on Trade and Investment

On July 13, Shri Goyal will hold bilateral meetings with senior Spanish leaders, including the First Vice President and Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, the Minister of Industry and Tourism, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He will also chair the India-Spain Business Roundtable, bringing together top Indian and Spanish companies to explore collaboration in automotive manufacturing, renewable energy, railways, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, tourism and food processing.

The visit coincides with the Spain-India Dual Year 2026, commemorating 70 years of diplomatic relations, providing an opportunity to expand business partnerships and investment flows.

Several Spanish companies, including Iberdrola, Acciona, CAF, Talgo, Gestamp and Indra, already have a strong presence in India, while Indian technology majors such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and L&T continue to expand their operations in Spain.

Belgium Leg to Highlight Logistics, Diamonds and Technology

During his visit to Belgium on July 14 and 15, the Commerce Minister will visit the Port of Antwerp and the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, focusing on logistics, resilient supply chains, green transport and opportunities for India’s gems and jewellery industry.

He will also hold CEO-level meetings with senior executives from Thales Group and Silox Group, discussing cooperation in aerospace, defence, cybersecurity, digital identity, specialty chemicals and sustainable manufacturing.

A key highlight of the Belgium visit will be the 3rd India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Ministerial Meeting in Brussels, where Shri Goyal will co-chair discussions alongside senior Indian ministers.

The Minister is also expected to meet senior European Union leaders, including the Presidents of the European Commission and European Council, the Prime Minister of Belgium, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister David Clarinval and European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič.

Business interactions through the India-Belgium Business Roundtable will further promote foreign investment, technology collaboration and resilient global supply chains.

Finland Visit to Boost Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing

The final leg of the visit, on July 16 and 17, will take Shri Goyal to Finland at the invitation of the Finnish Prime Minister.

Talks will focus on innovation, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, clean energy and industrial research. The Minister will meet Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Dr. Sakari Puisto, and participate in the India-Finland Business Roundtable.

An important outcome of the visit will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Business Finland to strengthen institutional cooperation.

Goyal will also visit leading Finnish companies and research institutions, including Nokia Corporation, VTT Research Centre, KONE Corporation and Kemppi Group, to explore partnerships in 6G technology, telecom infrastructure, smart mobility, industrial automation, electric vehicle infrastructure and frontier technologies.
