Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on citizens to embrace innovative celebrations for the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), emphasizing its role in fostering holistic well-being and national unity. In the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat, he noted the continuous surge in global enthusiasm for Yoga Day, tracing its impact since its inception in 2015.

Modi encouraged people to think beyond conventional yoga sessions, proposing dynamic engagements such as Yoga Chains and practices at iconic sites to make the occasion more inclusive. He commended Andhra Pradesh’s YogAndhra Abhiyan, which aims to create a pool of one million regular yoga practitioners, reflecting state-led leadership in the wellness revolution. He also expressed excitement about attending IDY celebrations in Visakhapatnam, reinforcing the significance of yoga in personal and national development.

Acknowledging corporate contributions, Modi praised companies that have designated office spaces for yoga practice and startups that have implemented dedicated yoga hours, recognizing the private sector’s role in advancing workplace wellness culture.

To mark a decade of Yoga Day, the Ministry of Ayush has curated ten Signature Events, aiming to expand yoga’s reach. Over 6,000 organizations have already signed up for Yoga Sangam, establishing one of India’s largest community-driven wellness movements. Youth-led initiatives such as Yoga Unplugged are gaining traction, motivating the next generation of practitioners, while Samyoga is integrating yoga into mainstream healthcare systems, connecting Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Siddha, Naturopathy, and Sowa Rigpa.

Reaffirming yoga’s transformative power, Modi declared, “Yoga will change the way you live your life,” urging citizens, institutions, and businesses to celebrate IDY 2025 in meaningful ways, ensuring yoga becomes an integral part of daily life.

The Ministry of Ayush invites people worldwide to be part of this milestone celebration, reinforcing yoga as a movement for national health, inner peace, and global well-being as the countdown to June 21 continues.
