New Delhi: Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurated the 10th India International Footwear Fair (IIFF) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) in association with the Confederation of Indian Footwear Industries (CIFI).

The three-day B2B exhibition brings together footwear manufacturers, exporters, importers, international buyers, technology providers and industry stakeholders from India and abroad.

ITPO Chairman Amb. Jawed Ashraf said India’s footwear industry employs nearly 4.5 million people and accounts for around 12–13% of global footwear production, but India’s share of global footwear exports is only about 2%. He called for collective efforts to raise India’s export share to 10%.

Ashraf also announced plans to develop IIFF into a globally recognised exhibition on the lines of Bharat Tex, with greater international participation and business opportunities.

Giriraj Singh highlighted the growing importance of technical textiles and non-leather footwear, urging manufacturers to leverage schemes such as the PLI Scheme to strengthen innovation, manufacturing and global competitiveness.

The fair showcases footwear, components, machinery, raw materials, chemicals and manufacturing technologies, providing opportunities for sourcing, technology exchange and export promotion.

IIFF 2026 will continue until August 8 at Halls 5 and 6, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with the industry targeting a stronger presence in global footwear markets.
