Mumbai: The Maharashtra contingent delivered a stellar performance at the All India Civil Services Yogasana Sports Championship 2025–26 held in Chandigarh, bringing pride and recognition to the state with an impressive medal tally and team achievement.

 

The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 400 athletes representing 24 States and Union Territories across multiple age categories, making it a highly competitive national-level event showcasing discipline, fitness, and excellence in Yogasana.

Guided by Mrs. Aparna Jadhav, Honorary Secretary (Yoga Department), Secretariat Gymkhana, the Maharashtra Government team demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and teamwork throughout the competition. Their

consistent performances across categories resulted in a total haul of 15 medals, comprising:

1 Gold Medal

7 Silver Medals

7 Bronze Medals

In a significant highlight, the Maharashtra Men’s Team secured the second position in the team event, further reinforcing the state’s strong presence in Yogasana sports and adding to its गौरव (prestige).

The success of the team reflects the growing emphasis on wellness, discipline, and sportsmanship among government employees, as well as the effectiveness of structured training and support provided by the Secretariat Gymkhana. The achievement also underscores Maharashtra’s commitment to promoting yoga as both a competitive sport and a holistic lifestyle practice.

Senior officials and dignitaries have lauded the team’s accomplishment, noting that such performances not only bring laurels to the state but also inspire wider participation in yoga and sports activities across departments.
