CDSL IPF, BSE IPF Hold Mega Investor Awareness Seminar in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar

Chhatrapati Sambhaji: The CDSL Investors Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) and BSE Investors Protection Fund (BSE IPF), under the aegis of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), jointly organised a Mega Regional Investor Awareness Seminar (Mega RISA) in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar on Thursday, drawing an enthusiastic response from over 850 participants.

The seminar, themed “Shikshit Se Saksham,” focused on promoting financial literacy, responsible investing and cyber safety awareness. Police personnel, CRPF and SRPF officials, municipal staff, government employees, faculty and students from MGM University, along with general investors, attended the programme.

Delivering the opening address, Smt. Meena Pednekar, Vice President, CDSL, highlighted the objective of creating “Atmanirbhar Investors” through structured education and awareness initiatives. Shri Khushro Bulsara, Head of BSE IPF, underscored the Fund’s commitment to strengthening investor protection and emphasised the growing importance of understanding emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Among the dignitaries present were Shri Sunil Kadam, Executive Director, SEBI; Shri Rahul Kelapure, AGM, SEBI; Shri Ranjeeth Patil, Additional Municipal Commissioner; Dr. Vinaykumar Rathod, Superintendent of Police (Rural); and Shri Ratnakar Navale, DCP (Crime).

Dr. Rathod lauded the initiative, noting that financial literacy and digital vigilance are increasingly vital, particularly for law enforcement officers dealing with cybercrime and financial fraud. Shri Sunil Kadam stressed the need for enhanced investor awareness as market participation widens, and reiterated SEBI’s commitment to nationwide financial literacy drives, including outreach programmes for students and rural communities.

A special session on cyber fraud by DCP Ratnakar Navale highlighted common digital threats and preventive measures, while a capital market expert explained key aspects of financial planning, investor rights, regulatory safeguards and grievance redressal mechanisms.

The seminar forms part of ongoing efforts by CDSL IPF and BSE IPF to strengthen investor education and build a financially aware and secure investor community across the country.
