Bengaluru: Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has acquired Tamil Nadu-based Southern Health Foods Private Limited, the maker of the popular health food brand Manna.

Manna, a well-established name in the health foods market for over two decades, is known for its range of nutritious products, including millet-based staples and mixes, health drinks, and baby food. The brand has a strong presence in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states.
With this acquisition, RCPL strengthens its foods and staples portfolio, which already includes brands such as Udhaiyam, Independence and SiL. The addition of Manna is expected to bolster RCPL’s position in the fast-growing millet-based and health foods segment.
T. Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said Manna is among the most trusted health-focused food brands in Tamil Nadu. “Beyond reinforcing our packaged foods portfolio, Manna will enable us to serve consumers with high-quality, nutritious products,” he said.
He added that RCPL plans to leverage its distribution network, research and development capabilities, and supply chain strengths to expand Manna’s reach across other regions of the country, with the aim of making it a national household brand.
Southern Health Foods is a key player in several health-oriented categories, including millets, oats, multigrain products, health mixes, breakfast cereals and dry fruits. Its flagship brand Manna is particularly known for products such as millet flour, baby foods and multigrain drink mixes.
The acquisition underscores RCPL’s stated focus on delivering global-quality products at affordable prices while expanding its footprint in the health and nutrition segment.
