BSNL Partners with Global Tech Leaders to Build Future-Ready Telecom Workforce in Jabalpur

0

India is set to become not just a manufacturing hub but a global technology contributor, with Jabalpur positioned at the center of this transformation, according to Union Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Speaking at the signing of strategic Memoranda of Understanding between Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and four global technology giants—Ericsson India, Qualcomm Technologies Inc., Cisco Systems, and Nokia Solutions and Networks India—Scindia emphasized the synergy between government and industry in realizing the aspirations of India’s youth.

The initiative aims to create industry-ready skilled manpower by launching advanced training programs in 5G, artificial intelligence and machine learning, networking, and digital technologies. These courses will be conducted at BSNL’s apex training institute, Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training in Jabalpur. The programme will train over 2,000 students annually, with Phase 1 investments exceeding Rs 1 crore.

Scindia described the collaboration as a landmark step in building a skilled telecom workforce, backed by global industry leaders. The training modules will range from short two-week courses to intensive 84-hour programmes, positioning Jabalpur as a hub for cutting-edge technology education.

This development aligns with the Department of Telecommunications’ broader plan to establish a Telecom Innovation, Research and Training Centre at the same institute. Envisioned as an industry-led national hub, the centre will focus on telecom-specific R&D and workforce development, supporting the Prime Minister’s vision of Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
