Indian Naval Ships Dock in Manila to Deepen Maritime Cooperation with Philippines

Indian Naval Ships INS Delhi, Shakti, and Kiltan, part of the Eastern Fleet under the command of RAdm Susheel Menon, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, arrived in Manila, Philippines as part of the Indian Navy’s operational deployment to South East Asia. The ships received a warm welcome from the Philippine Navy, reflecting the robust and expanding maritime partnership between the two nations.

The visit underscores the Indian Navy’s commitment to fostering regional stability and maritime security in the Indo-Pacific. Upon arrival, RAdm Susheel Menon engaged with local media, emphasizing the shared dedication of India and the Philippines to maintaining peace and security in the maritime domain. He highlighted the significance of such deployments in building trust, understanding, and cooperation among friendly naval forces.

The port call includes a series of professional and social interactions between the Indian and Philippine navies. Scheduled activities comprise operational planning discussions, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, cross-deck visits, and other engagements designed to enhance mutual learning and interoperability.

A bilateral maritime exercise will also be conducted during the visit, focusing on joint manoeuvres and communication protocols. This exercise aims to strengthen operational synergy, improve preparedness, and build mutual trust between the two navies, reinforcing India’s strategic outreach in the region.
