Mumbai: Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. (MRVC), a joint venture of the Ministry of Railways and the Government of Maharashtra, celebrated its 26th Foundation Day with pride and camaraderie.

Addressing officers and staff, Chairman & Managing Director Vilas Sopan Wadekar reaffirmed MRVC’s commitment to modern, safe, and sustainable suburban rail infrastructure. He outlined key focus areas such as Mission Zero Deaths, flood mitigation, CBTC implementation (Kavach 5), and intermodal integration, aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
Director (Projects) Rajeev Srivastava highlighted the challenges of upgrading Mumbai’s rail network within a dense urban environment, crediting teamwork and dedication for each milestone.
The event honoured former CMDs and Directors for their contributions and featured a short film on MRVC’s projects and a cultural performance by the Central Railway team.
The celebrations concluded with a renewed pledge to strengthen safety, capacity, and commuter comfort—reinforcing MRVC’s role in shaping Mumbai’s sustainable transport future.
