Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 100 billion in Siwan, Bihar, vowing continued progress under the NDA while warning against attempts by opposition parties to derail growth. Emphasizing Bihar’s historical legacy and its vital role in India’s future economic ascent, Modi praised the people of the state for rejecting the so-called “Jungle Raj” era and restoring the state’s path to development.

Addressing a massive gathering, he said the NDA government, under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, has transformed Bihar’s infrastructure, citing 55,000 kilometers of new rural roads, over 1.5 crore electricity connections, and 1.5 crore water connections delivered in just the last decade. He reaffirmed his commitment to serve every household and village in Bihar, asserting that “Modi will not rest” until every citizen lives with dignity.

Modi highlighted the construction of over 57 lakh houses in Bihar under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and called attention to the increasing ownership of these homes by women. He said more than 12 crore families across India now have access to piped water, including over 450,000 families in Siwan.

He cited declining poverty, noting that more than 3.75 crore people in Bihar alone have risen out of poverty in the past decade. He criticized past regimes for perpetuating poverty through corrupt systems such as license and quota raj, which he said disproportionately harmed Dalits, Mahadalits, and backward communities.

Calling attention to new economic milestones, he inaugurated Bihar’s first locomotive exported to Africa from the Madhepura rail factory. He said this marked Bihar’s reemergence on the global manufacturing map. The launch of the Vande Bharat train connecting Patna and Gorakhpur, he added, would boost connectivity, pilgrimage, and tourism. Modi stressed that Eastern India, including Bihar, is now central to India’s economic narrative, not peripheral.

Without naming them, he accused Congress and RJD of dynastic politics, saying their version of “development” meant prosperity for one family over the nation. He condemned their past record on law and order and their alleged disregard for marginalized communities. Modi defended the NDA’s commitment to Ambedkar’s legacy and accused rivals of symbolic tokenism and insults toward the architect of India’s Constitution.

He called on Bihar’s youth to take forward the progress achieved under NDA rule, promising sustained growth, greater global trade, and more opportunities for employment through investments in infrastructure and exports. His speech closed with calls for unity, vigilance, and national pride, declaring Bihar a cornerstone of a developed India.
