ChatGPT Fails Yet Once Again Raising Fears on Reliance Over AI Resources

0

OpenAI’s popular chatbot ChatGPT experienced a global outage on Tuesday, affecting users worldwide, including those in India. Many users reported difficulties in loading responses and accessing prompts.

The company acknowledged the issue, citing “elevated error rates and latency” across its AI platforms. OpenAI confirmed it is investigating the disruption.

Approximately 88% of complaints from Indian users mentioned that the chatbot was unresponsive, while 8% faced mobile app issues, and 3% encountered API-related problems. Downdetector recorded a spike in outage reports as frustrated users turned to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss the downtime.

“Everyone rushing to Twitter (now X) to check if ChatGPT is down for anyone else,” wrote one user. Another joked, “ChatGPT is down, which means I actually have to type out my own emails at work. Send prayers.”

OpenAI recently announced that ChatGPT has 3 million paying business users, an increase from the 2 million reported in February. To enhance workplace productivity, the company launched new AI-powered tools, including connectors (beta) for Dropbox, Box, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Google Drive, allowing users to quickly retrieve data from third-party platforms without leaving ChatGPT. Deep research connectors (beta) are now available for HubSpot, Linear, and various Microsoft and Google tools.

While OpenAI has yet to confirm when ChatGPT services will be fully restored, its team continues working on resolving the issue.
