An Exceptional Single Owner Wine Collection

New Delhi: An Exceptional Single Owner Wine Collection. Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, The Pride of Vosne-Romanee: An Exceptional Single Owner Collection, has been added to Christie’s Wine Department in America. Domaine de la Romanee-Conti produces only 6,000-8,000 cases of wine per year and is the only Domaine in Burgundy that only uses Grand Cru vineyards.

This single-owner online auction features a spectacular offering of 75 lots from this illustrious producer, including many of the best vintages from the previous four decades. The collection is exceptional in terms of condition and provenance, with many lots offered in their original wooden cases from the cellar of a Burgundy connoisseur and long-time supporter. The collector has been visiting Burgundy vineyards for the last 40 years and has a good relationship with the owners.

The majority of the bottles were purchased directly from the Burgundy Wine Company and from reputable auction houses, with a focus on lots with exceptional provenance. The collection was carefully stored in a temperature and humidity-controlled subterranean cellar. Each lot is in exceptional condition as a result of perfect storage and an immaculate cellar environment. Among the many highlights are several vintages of Romanee-Conti and Montrachet, assorted vintages from 1995 and 2002 in their original wooden cases, and a large selection of magnums, including 1985 and 1989 La Tache. This is a collector’s paradise.

Chris Munro, Head of Department, Wine and Spirits, Christie’s Americas, commented: “Christie’s is delighted to be entrusted with the sale of this remarkable collection of wine from the world’s leading Burgundy Domaine. Every lot comes with perfect provenance, many offered in original wooden cases. DRC continues to attract collectors from around the globe. Small production and superb quality making these wines top of any collectors list of must haves.”
