Mumbai: Ratan Tata awarded honorary doctorate by the Governor. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the Honorary Doctor of Literature to industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Saturday (10th Jun). Ratan Tata one of the country’s biggest industrialists, has been honored with a doctorate degree by the HSNC University of Mumbai at the age of 84.

Ratan Tata awarded honorary doctorate by the Governor

The Honorary Doctorate was presented to Tata at the First Special Convocation of the HSNC University. Recently, the Manchester University of UK had also awarded Ratan Tata with a honorary doctorate degree.

Provost of the HSNC University Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, President of the HSNC Board Anil Harish, former President Kishu Mansukhani, Vice Chancellor of the University Dr Hemlata Bagla and trustees were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said the honor for Ratan Tata is in effect the honor of the entire Tata family and Tata Group. He said, by accepting the Honorary Doctorate from HSNC University, Ratan Tata has honored the HSNC University and the audiences.
The Governor said, Ratan Tata is much more than an industrialist or corporate leader; He is a role model and an icon for young entrepreneurs and startups. He said values, ethics, humility and humanity make Ratan Tata an inspiration for the younger generation.
