As part of Republic Day many schools and collages get together to celebrate the Republic and constitution of the country by conducting a parade. These celebrations instil pride, allegiance and patriotism among the children.
Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Staff, Headquarter Western Naval Command presided over a parade organised by Brihanmumbai Inter-School Republic Day (BIRD) Committee, at BJ Road, Near Bandra Bandstand, Mumbai. The parade represented by 21 schools of Mumbai where children marched with pride and patriotism. Stalls from Army, Navy and Air Force were set up to showcase the armed forces of the country. On the occasion, Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar urged the parents and teachers to give direction and time to the children so that they grow up as responsible citizens of the country. He also urged the children to pursue their goals armed with knowledge, hard work and a positive attitude. Sharing his experience, he gave some insight on how to become a professional and not remain an armature in life.
Major General Anuj Mathur, Chief of Staff, Headquarter Maharashtra Gujarat and Goa Area of the Indian Army, inspected a similar parade of school children organised at Acharaya Atre Maidan, Pantnagar Police Station Road, Pantnagar, Ghatkopar, Mumbai. An exhibition of Army and Police Equipment was also organised for those visiting the venue.
