Oppo R1 launched at Rs 26,990


New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Oppo has launched another mid-range r, the Oppo R1 in India, at Rs 26,990.

The Oppo R1 comes with a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The smartphone measures 142.7 x 70.4 x 7.1 mm and weighs about 140 grams.

The phone comes with 16GB internal storage, but there is no word on expandable storage. It runs ColorOS which is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

In terms of imaging, the phone comes with an 8MP rear camera with Fujitsu sensor and a 5MP front camera, both with f/2.0 wide aperture, which the company says will deliver good quality images in low light conditions. The R1’s camera comes with PI technology, beautify, voice shot, panorma and burst shot features. In addition, the R1’s wide angle front camera can take HD selfies. The camera features an independent image-processing chip for enhanced images.

All of this is fuelled by a 2,410mAh battery. It also incorporates the PI technology that claims to produce more natural white balance and precise auto focus.

The smartphone has standard edition GSM/WCDMA network with GPS and AGPS. Bluetooth 2.1, WIFI Display and WIFI Direct are some of its other network features.

At the same time, Oppo has also reduced the price of Oppo N1, its flagship phone in the Indian market, to Rs 37,990. The phone was launched earlier this year, at Rs 39,999.
