NCC PROMOTES RUNNING FOR HEALTHY LIVING

Nearly 250 National Cadet Corps (NCC) Cadets enthusiastically participated in the first ever, 5 kms long, ‘NCC Mini Marathon Run’ organised within the premises of Bhawan’s College, Andheri (West), in early morning today. Runners included around 150 Senior Division boys and 100 Senior Division girls. The first edition of the run by NCC Cadets with its tag of ‘Youth Power’ promotes running as a way to enhance physical fitness and lead healthy life among the younger generation. Cadet Shaila Pendhare stood first among girls and Cadet Nitin Patil stood first among boys. The Mini Marathon was flagged off by Colonel AS Khagarot, Commanding Officer, 8 Maharashtra Girls Battalion, NCC.

The Marathon was spearheaded by Mumbai group A of Maharashtra Directorate and organised by 8 Maharashtra Girls Battalion, NCC on behalf of NCC Directorate Maharashtra as part of a national drive of NCC. The Principal, Bhawan’s College distributed the medals to the prize winners and all cadets completing the race were given certificate of participation.
