Maharashtra needs to be proactively showcased as a tourism destination


Secretary Tourism and culture Maharashra, Vinita Vaid Singhal called on the people of the state to make tourism a memorable experience for the visitors. She was speaking at a function held at Indian Merchants’ Chamber to commemorate world tourism day.
She cited the examples of Kerala and Rajasthan where everyone was consciously making an effort to help the tourists feel welcome. She singled out Pushkar for special praise, stating “Guests stayed in Pushkar for as long as six months.”
She exhorted the people of Maharashtra to raise their awareness levels and replicate the story of successful tourism destinations. The tourism minister could not attend as the election code of conduct was in place.
