Mumbai: Bombay Hospitality’s new multi-cuisine restaurant venture ‘Vedge’ aims to break the age old ‘boring’ myth associated with Vegetarian cuisine via its handcrafted all day dining vegetarian eatery, opened at Fun Republic, Andheri west.

This 86 cover casual dining restaurant aims to give pure veg cuisine its due credit by creating a classy, trendy and young restaurant space that endeavours to reinvent the current perception of vegetarian dining in Mumbai.


A well established display kitchen, glass panelled doors, colourful Persian tiles lining beige industrial looking walls and unique quirky collectibles from all across the globe – the interiors of Vedge personify the unexpected laidback elegance that its food also portrays. Handpicked Edison bulbs and lamps shed light onto big comfortable sofas and a trendy mix and match of wood & aluminum benches, adding a pleasant, warm, and kitschy surprise to every element of the experience.

IMG_1009The Edgy Vedge Journey: Creating an edgy, flavoursome gastronomic journey, Vedge’s fun and refreshing culinary showcase features an interactive mix of old-meets-new flavours embedded in a variety of cuisine options such as Indian, Oriental, Italian and Mexican, laying distinct emphasis on a signature style of presentation.

With marked twists to traditional dishes, the menu boasts of notably interactive main courses, as Vedge’s culinary team (headed by Chef Rahul Kulkarni) transforms traditional favourites such as chana bhatura, vegetable korma (served with malbari parathas) and cheese pav bhaji into piquant, savory delights, worthy of a definite mention. Appetizing must try’s also include the Madras crispy veggies, chukandar ki galoutis, thai corn cheese cake, kung pao potatoes and the uber popular, pani puri shots, in a never seen before fun and edgy format!

IMG_1110Another unique addition is the 12 – 6 pm ‘Afternoon menu’ that features quick albeit tummy filling snackoptions such as the Chilly coriander rawa dosa, Sichuan masala dosa , Udida appe and Steam idli basket, along with eccentric twists to the road-side Aloo tikki chat and Oriental (read: Chinese) bhel.

For those with an incorrigible sweet tooth, don’t miss the edgy Manglorean gadbad or the passion fruit cheesecake, signature desserts prepared with great love and care.
