Mumbai: Chief Minister requests the Prime Minister for vaccination of all above 25 years of age Necessary to save youth from the Corona infection. Citing the fact that youngsters are getting more and more Corona infections and expressing the need to save the youngsters from the transmission of Coronavirus, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to provide vaccination to everyone above 25 years of age. In a recently held video conference meeting, Prime Minister had agreed to chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s demand of vaccination for everyone above 45 years of age. In today’s letter chief minister has thanked Prime Minister and requested him to reduce the age group for vaccination and has also requested additional doses of vaccines to Maharashtra.

Informing about the concrete steps taken by Maharashtra to prevent Corona spread, the chief minister has stated that the state has always presented the situation with transparency and has increased the rate of testing consciously. He has said that measures are being taken so that every Corona patient recovers and stricter restrictions are being imposed to break the Chain of infections since virus strain is more dangerous than last year version. Pointing it out that essential services, the manufacturing sector, transport are uninterrupted in the state, the chief minister has said that the guidelines are issued so that all the people would adhere to Corona related rules and regulations. He has informed that Maharashtra has taken the vaccination drive seriously and till yesterday April 4th, 76.86 lakh persons in the state have been vaccinated and on April 3rd maximum of 4.62 lakh, persons in a day were vaccinated. Need 4.62 crore doses Stating that Maharashtra is trying to increase vaccination and urging the Prime Minister to provide more vaccines for the same, chief minister has said that state is prepared to give vaccination to maximum infected six districts of Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad and Nagpur in next three weeks and for completing the vaccination of these six districts for giving vaccines to everyone above 45 years of age, the state would need 1.5 crore doses. Expressing the confidence that with efforts by state Governments and with the help from Union Government Corona wave can be overcome, the chief minister has said that country can be brought to new normal with the help of priority to life first and livelihood later approach as well as with the help of scientific progress,
