Chandrakant Taral is new president of Maharashtra Masters Athletic Association


Mumbai: Chandrkant Taral has been appointed as acting president of Maharashtra Masters Athletic Association. (MMAA) This post was vacant due to sad demise of its president Cdr. Kehar Singh VSM (Retd.) on the 16th March 2020 as informed Dominic Savio, Hon’ble General Secretary of MMAA. Chandrkant Taral is presently senior vice president of MMAA and President of Akola District Master’s Athletic Association. He is retired sports officer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution company.
MMAA is a registered body and it is affiliated with All India Federation and other national and international organisations. Every year it organises athletic meets for men and women above the age of 35 years. It is also engaged in social work. Recently Akola unit of MMAA donated Rs. 51,000/- to the Chief Minister’s Covid 19 prevention fund. Its members particularly Prakash Datey and Madhuri Datey arranged food to the relatives of patients admitted in general hospitals.
Taral said that MMAA will spread sports activities in all districts of state and work for larger participation of its members in national and international meets. It will also coordinate with governments.
