Pune: Bank of Maharashtra (BoM), a premier public sector bank in the country, celebrated its 86th Foundation Day at its Head Office in Pune on 16th September 2020 with its customers via video conference (VC). Bank customers of PAN India branches including eminent industrialists and distinguished dignitaries from different walks of life joined Foundation Day celebrations through VC. Mr. A S Rajeev, Managing Director & CEO; Mr. Hemant Tamta, Mr. Nageswara Rao Y., Executive Directors, Mr. L. N. Rath, CVO and General Managers of Bank of Maharashtra at Head Office were present. The event was celebrated with simplicity as a mark of respect for the staff members and the public who are suffering from the current pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion. Mr. A S Rajeev, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Maharashtra outlined the history and growth of the bank, paid homage to the bank’s founders and thanked employees and customers for their relentless support and belief in the institution. Mr. Rajeev opined that “Amidst the pandemic, our banking environment is changing rapidly and digitization has become the core ’Mantra’ in Banking. Today we stand at a key juncture wherein unless we adapt ourselves to these changes, our survival will be at stake. This transformational journey demands our rededication without complacency as we are all living in a dynamic world.”
Mr. Hemant Tamta, Executive Director of the Bank said, “Bank of Maharashtra has strived to become a one-stop solution for all financial needs of the customers, a financial supermarket” Mr. Tamta further stated that we need to focus on our core strengths i.e. loyal customer base to augment CASA growth and RAM (Retail, Agriculture & MSME) advances, young staff strength and well spread branch network throughout the country to increase our profitability & providing better and improved customer services.
Mr. Nageswara Rao Y., Executive Director opined that Bank has shown profits continuously in the last six quarters & an ascending trend towards achieving unprecedented heights based on the love and appreciation of its customers and staff members.
During the event, Bank launched its Credit Card to expand our retail portfolio. Other services viz. Mahabank Gold Loan Point, Online/Tab Banking Solution and Bank’s revamped website www.bankofmaharashtra.in were also inaugurated. In addition, ‘Legal Edge’ Quarterly Magazine from Recovery department and booklets viz. Welfare Measures, Terminal Benefits and Transfer Guidelines from the HRM department were also released.
Bank of Maharashtra is celebrating National Nutrition Month from 1st to 30th September 2020 to spread awareness about nutritional needs, deficiencies and malnutrition among women and children by conducting awareness camps in seven districts of Maharashtra, which includes organizing on the spot doctors, distributing nutritional food packets, explaining the importance of social distancing, sanitization & mask amidst Covid19 pandemic.
