Air services resume at Bali airport; Chhota Rajan to be deported today

Bali: With air services resuming at Bali airport, mafia don Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhalje alias Chhota Rajan, who is presently being held in Indonesia, is likely to be deported to India on Thursday.
The 55-year-old mafia don’s deportation was deferred due to the closure of the airport in Bali as a result of the spewing of volcanic ash from a nearby mountain.

Security agencies have decided to bring Rajan in Delhi with CBI keeping him in custody for initial period before any other police force is allowed to take him for their respective investigations.

Chhota Rajan, one of the India’s most wanted gangster, was arrested in the tourist town of Bali, Indonesia, on a Red Corner Notice issued by Interpol after eluding law enforcement agencies for over two decades.

Rajan is wanted in over 75 heinous crimes ranging from murder, extortion to smuggling and drug trafficking.

The arrest was made on a tip off from the Australian Police that 55-year-old Rajan has flown from Sydney to Bali.
