Welcome to Day 2 of the 1st Test match in Abu Dhabi between Pakistan and England.
Pakistan rode on a fine 98 by Mohammed Hafeez and a valiant century by returning Shoaib Malik to post 286/4 in 87 overs. It was a hard day for the English bowlers with Ian Bell dropping two catches that made it even harder. Pakistan will want to add on to the solid platform and the first session will be key here.
Spinners have failed to get any purchase and it will be on the shoulders of the pacers to make some inroads. James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes were amongst the wickets on Day 1.
Also it was Younis Khan who became Pakistan’s highest scorer ever in Tests on Day 1. He surpassed former legend Javed Miandad.
