- Over 5000 runners participated in this inaugural event in Mumbai

Mumbai – February 4, 2018: State Bank of India – the country’s largest bank – launched its annual flagship programme ‘SBI Green Marathon’ to promote sustainability. Rajnish Kumar, Chairman – SBI along with other senior officials of the bank flagged off the event that witnessed more than 5000 enthusiastic runners. The Sunday morning in the MMRDA Grounds, BKC observed participants from across the city running 2, 5, 10, 21 Kms marathon, pledging for a greener future. Rajnish Kumar along with other senior officials of the bank also contributed to the “Run for Green” theme and ran the 2 Km marathon along with other participants. All the runners were given saplings to promote clean and green city and the runners’ bib consisted of seeds for tree plantation post Marathon. SBI also plans to roll out its marathon in additional 6 cities – Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad & Chandigarh
