Bhopal: President Ram Nath Kovind is paying a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh from Friday, during which he will attend an event on 15th century mystic poet-saint Kabir.

President Kovind, who is set to arrive in the afternoon, will reach the Lal Parade ground to address the Kabir Pragatotsava as chief guest.

Later, Kovind will pay tributes at the statue of Rani Jhalkaribai at Guru Tegh Bahadur Complex in the state capital.

The President will then go to the Raj Bhavan where Governor O.P. Kohli will host a dinner in his honour.

He flies to Raipur on Saturday from where he will go to the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) helipad at Amarkantak. He will then proceed to the Narmada temple to offer prayers. After the temple visit, the President will take part in IGNTU’s second convocation ceremony.

Thereafter, he will proceed to New Delhi via Raipur.

This will be the President’s first visit to Madhya Pradesh after assuming office.
