The role of separatist leaders in fomenting trouble in the Kashmir Valley after a sting operation by a private news channel showed them admitting that they receive funds from their Pakistani handlers including Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Sayeed.
Taking cognizance of this, NIA has now reached Srinagar to question Hurriyat leaders after registering a Preliminary Enquiry against them for alleged involvement in subversive activities and receiving funds from Hafiz Saeed.
Inquiry would be done against Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Naeem Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Gazi Javed Baba and others.
They are also accused of damaging public property, stone pelting on the security forces, as also burning of schools and other government establishments.
Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said that the expose proves that subversive activities in the Valley are being financed from across the border and the attack on journalists reveals the true face of separatists.
