Movie Review – Mubarakan

Producer – Sony Motion Pictures

Director – Anees Bazmee

Genre – Comedy Romance

Cast –
Arjun Kapoor
Anil Kapoor
Ileana D,cruz
Athiya Shetty
Pavano Malhotra
Ratna Pathak Shah
Rahul Dev
Neha Sharma

Plot – Karan Singh (Arjun Kapoor) and Charan Singh(Arjun Kapoor) are twin brothers who lose their parents in infancy in a car crash. They are brought up by their uncle Baljeet Singh(Pavan Malhotra) and aunt Jeeto Singh (Ratna Pathak Shah) Charan in Chandigarh and Karan in London.
Where Karan loves a girl Sweety Gill (Ileana D,cruz) a Punjabi girl in London who has a fight with his mother in the mall.
Charan loves Nafisa Qureshi (Neha Sharma) a lawyer who is Muslim. Both boys can’t tell their parents of their love due to different problems.
Where Jeeto wants to make her son marry Binkle Sandhu (Athiya Shetty) the daughter of Akalpreet Sandhu (Rahul Dev) an industrialist and big Businessman of London.
The Twins are in a fix and they approach their happy go lucky bachelor Uncle Kartar Singh (Anil Kapoor) to help them solve their problem.
How Kartar Singh goofs up and tries solving their problems which turn into more bigger and more complex problems is the movie.

What’s Good –
All the actors give in a very good performance Arjun Kapoors best performance as an actor he puts in sincere effort to play the different character of 2 Brothers one shy sardar and one cool and hip rocking fellow. Veteran stage actors
Pavan Malhotra and Ratna Pathak Shah give in a very strong and convincing performance, But it’s Chacha Karta Singh played by Anil Kapoor who manages to steal the show and outperforms everybody and is the real hero of the film and his nephew on and of the screen Arjun Kapoor. Anil simply rocks in his comedy timings his clichéd jokes and his dance moves in every department the 62 year old just simply rocks and carries the movie.
The songs are all good peppy dance numbers and will remain in the top charts and will play in the pubs the whole year long.
The movie garners comedy laughs throughout the long duration of the movie with slapstick dialogues.

What’s Bad – The script needed to be edited better its too much confusion too many twists and quite boring ones at that it’s like a twist in a twist after twist after twist and yet none of it being really edge of the seat, The movie is too long an could have been atleast 20 to 30 mins shorter,
Ileana D,cruz as the cool bindaas girl and Athiya Shetty as the silent and shy demure girl are also good but sadly they haven’t been given much to do in the film.

Verdict – A long movie on comedy of errors, family values and served as Punjabi patiala peg. Where Chacha Anil Kapoor Steals the thunder of Bhatija Arjun Kapoor.
My Rating 3 of 5 stars
